St. Mary's School Tetbury taking action to become single-use plastic free

Updated: Apr 13, 2021

The staff and children at St Mary's Primary School are working hard towards becoming a single-use plastic free school as well as encouraging their children to connect with nature in their forest school. They are a key part of the Greening Tetbury movement.

Here's some of what they've already done

  • All milk is delivered in glass bottles and all water bottles are refillable

  • Less glitter is used and laminating is kept to a minimum

  • The catering supplier have stopped using cling film

  • Children are learning more about environmental issues

And here's some of what they hope to do next

  • Remove single use plastic from uniform supplies

  • Working with parents and suppliers to reduce plastic food packaging

To find out more and keep up to date with their progress take a look at their website.
