As part of Great Big Green Week Research Scientist, Dr John Andrews, gives a talk on achieving net zero. To overcome global warming the world needs to switch from fossil fuel technologies to alternative energy technologies. This talk assesses the state of play and the timescale to bring it about.

This evening’s talk will be followed by a Question and Answer session with John Andrews who will be joined by Justine Mallinson: the Cotswold District Council Retrofit Engagement Officer.

Dr John Andrews was a research scientist in the electricity supply industry and lectured on energy science at Bristol and Oxford Universities. He is the co-author with Nick Jelley of ‘Energy Science: Principles, Technologies and Impacts’ (OUP, 4th Edition Nov. 2021).


Justine Mallinson is the Retrofit Engagement Officer for Cotswold District Council. She has been involved in the energy efficiency industry since 2008 and is an experienced Domestic Energy Assessor, Retrofit Assessor and Retrofit Coordinator.
