The Department for Transport has issued statutory guidance to local authorities on measures to ensure our streets are safe for pedestrians and cyclists to use and to enable social distancing. The transport secretary has made it clear that these measures should pave the way to long-term reduction of motor vehicles on our highways. This is an incredible opportunity to bring about environmentally positive changes. Cotswold District Council are currently drawing up safety measures for the county. To ensure we get the measures we need in Tetbury, residents should go to https://www.widenmypath.com where they can, on a map, mark locations where social distancing measures are needed.
