On the 8th July 2020 the government announced a new environmental initiative, the Green Homes Grant.
Grants will be available for improving the energy efficiency within homes by four main ways: insulation, low-energy lighting, double-glazing, and energy-efficient doors.
The government will pay two-thirds of the total cost up to a maximum of £5000 (i.e where the total cost would be £7,500).
For those households with incomes below a certain level (yet to be defined) the government will pay the full cost of the work undertaken, up to a maximum of £10,000.
Annual heating savings could amount to as much as £600 per year per household.
The scheme is due to commence in September 2020. Please watch this space
