On Wednesday 9 September, we will be screening the Public Emergency Briefing at Tetbury Goods Shed at 7:30pm. You may have heard that last November, ten of the UK’s leading experts gave a National Emergency Briefing (NEB) to an invited audience of more than 1,200 politicians and business, culture, faith, sport and media leaders in Westminster. The briefing set out the implications of climate and nature breakdown for health, food systems, national security and the economy. Its purpose was to demonstrate what a clear, evidence-led national emergency briefing could look like and why it is needed. After the hot and dry summer that we’ve just had this briefing appears even more important.
Come to our Public Emergency Briefing screening
The Public Emergency Briefing is a short film about this briefing and has now been shown more than 2,000 times across Britain. The 50-minute film combines authoritative content from the Westminster event with reactions from members of the public - designed to help audiences process the information on a more human level. It delivers the frank facts about the threats, but also the enormous benefits if Government leads genuine emergency action.
Many at the NEB commented that although the facts are alarming, they felt a sense of optimism about confronting the challenge together and seeing a pathway to a better future. The film is intended to catalyse wider public conversation and lead to a live televised national briefing, introduced by the Prime Minister and delivered by independent experts, so that the whole country can be fully informed about the risks we face and the solutions available.
Register your free place below and come along on Wednesday 9 September to hear for yourself.
